WaPo Wants to Hear Your Endorsement!

This just in from the Washington Post. Please take a moment and e-mail them to let them know you unequivocally support our statewide candidates!

Your Endorsement

In the coming weeks, The Post's editorial board will be weighing its endorsement in the Virginia gubernatorial race. But why should we be the only ones? Make the case for your candidate in 200 words or less, and e-mail it to letters@washpost.com with "My Endorsement" in the subject line. Include your party registration, if any, as well as how you voted in Virginia's last governor's race. Finally, please include a day and evening phone number (not for publication) and a note disclosing any connection you have to Sen. R. Creigh Deeds or Robert F. McDonnell, their campaigns or the Democratic or Republican parties.

We'll publish as many endorsements as we can on next week's Local Opinions page and throughout the week at http://washingtonpost.com/localopinions.

Inaugural Meeting Tomorrow

Hello loyal blog readers,

Tomorrow we will hold our first meeting at South Street Brewery. We will gather to discuss plans for the group including how we will help out with this fall's campaigns, future meetings, and basically how to have a good time as a Young Democrat in C'ville and nearby environs. I hope to see you there!

Creigh's Picking Up Steam!

Cross-posted at VAYD.

A new poll by Public Policy Polling shows that the Governor's race has tightened up! After being behind by double digits over the summer Creigh Deeds trails Bob "for Jobs for Men" McDonnell by 49-42.

Additionally, 86% of the data was collected BEFORE the story of McDonnell's backwards blueprint for Virginia hit on Sunday.

It's time to hit the campaign trail hard to keep up this momentum!

This new poll is great news for Creigh and our Democratic ticket, and it means that we have to work extra hard these next two months to continue the momentum achieve a Democratic victory in November!

Every phone call and every door knock that Young Democrats make these next two months brings us one step closer to victory. We need you now!
